Founded in 2015 by Film, Television & Documentary Producer Kate Garwood. Indikate Productions specializes in producing content in both the fiction and non-fiction space, shining light on ground-breaking and socially impactful stories.

Born in London, Kate Garwood has spent the last 20 years in the USA producing genre-defining television, film and documentary content. Kate launched her career on the blockbuster TV series’ ‘24’ starring Keifer Sutherland and the award-winning HBO Film ‘The Life and Death of Peter Sellers’ starring Geoffrey Rush and Charlize Theron. In the documentary world, Kate produced the doc series’ ‘Driving Force’ and ‘A Las Vegas Garden of Love’ and the Pablo Escobar documentary feature ‘Pablo’s Hippos’ for BBC Films. Kate served as producer on the feature film ‘The Reaping’ with Hilary Swank and Idris Elba, and also produced numerous TV series, including the hit show ‘Californication’ starring David Duchovny, and ‘House of Lies’ starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell. 

In 2015 Kate Garwood founded Indikate Productions, where she developed and produced the feature film ‘RACE’, the real-life story of legendary African-American athlete Jesse Owens and the 1936 Nazi Olympics in Berlin, and ‘Seberg’ the true story of American actress Jean Seberg and her relationship with the Black Panther party, set in 1969 Los Angeles. Indikate’s upcoming projects are the feature documentary ‘RANGER’, which depicts the journey of 12 Kenyan women as they undergo a profound rite of passage to become East Africa’s first all-female anti-poaching unit, and ‘Breaking The Boundaries’ an environmental impact documentary feature to be released by Netflix. Also in development is the feature film ‘Lost Sister’, a US Western set in the late 1800’s following a woman’s 30 year journey back to her family after being kidnapped as a child and raised by a native American tribe.

Founder Kate Garwood lives between the USA, UK and Kenya, and is active in the Producers Guild of America (PGA). Outside of the film business, Kate dedicates much of her time to philanthropic causes, particularly in the area of art, social activism and environmental conservation. Kate’s first venture into documentary filmmaking was launching ‘The Elders’ initiative with Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and President Jimmy Carter in Johannesburg. The experience also ignited a deep passion for Africa. Today, Kate serves as a Trustee and board member of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) in Cape Town, South Africa - the largest museum in the world dedicated to African contemporary art - and also serves on the board of the non-profit Zeitz Foundation in Kenya, which is committed to numerous wildlife conservation, female empowerment, education and community projects. Kate is also co-owner of Segera - a wildlife conservancy and eco-safari retreat which protects 50,000 acres of wilderness in Laikipia, Kenya.
