Born in London, Kate Garwood has spent the last 20 years in the USA producing genre-defining Television, Film and Documentary content. Kate launched her scripted career on the award-winning 24, Traffic and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers for HBO, starring Geoffrey Rush and Charlize Theron, which debuted at the Cannes film festival. She later worked as a Producer on the hit series Californication starring David Duchovny and House of Lies starring Don Cheadle, both for Showtime. In the non-fiction world, Kate documented the launch of The Elders project with Nelson Mandela, produced the series Driving Force and A Las Vegas Garden of Love for A&E, and the documentary feature Pablo’s Hippos for BBC Films. After founding her own production company, Indikate Productions in 2015, Kate developed and produced the feature films RACE based on the true story of Jesse Owens and the 1936 Nazi Olympics for Focus Features starring Jeremy Irons and Jason Sudeikis, and Seberg starring Kristen Stewart for Amazon Studios, which premiered at the Toronto, London and Venice Film Festivals. Kate then produced Breaking Boundaries, a climate documentary series with Sir David Attenborough for Netflix. Most recently, her documentary feature Ranger following twelve women in rural Kenya on their journey to become conservation Rangers, finished a successful thirteen festival run in the US, winning Best Documentary Film at the Sedona International Film Festival before being released on Apple in November 2024. Kate’s next projects include the award-winning documentary feature The Librarians, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, Sheffield and Rome film festivals amongst many others, before being released theatrically across the US and screening on the BBC in November 2025. Kate is currently producing the documentary Captured with plans for a festival debut in 2026, and is developing the feature film Lost Sister, a female-led Western, based on the award-winning short story by acclaimed Western writer, Dorothy Johnson ,with plans to go into production in late 2026.
